We are very conscious of the risks our industry can have on the environment if operations are not carried out responsibly. We employ a fulltime Environmental Manager whose prime responsibility is to monitor and ensure that all our operations are carried out in a safe and environmentally sustainable manner. We also employ a fulltime Geologist who is continuously looking at ways to maximise the economic and sustainable use of our rock resources. All our quarry operations are regularly monitored by the Mineral Resources Department as stipulated under the Quarries Act.
We employ 215 employees nationwide, most of whom belong to the National Union of Factory and Commercial Workers.
Some major beneficiaries from our operations are the landowners of the various rock resources that we operate, to whom we pay royalty for every cu.m of rock extracted.
